Run with us
Using The ARC (Sports Centre) at Caledonian University as our base, we have 3 regular weekly runs that take you through the sights and scenes of Greater Glasgow.
To help get the most out of your running, we offer runs that suit all abilities (generally split into 7 skill level groups on a Thursday). We have a full range of abilities, from absolute beginners doing our ’Couch to 5K’ programme at the start of the year, to advanced competitive runners who undertake half-marathons & marathons.
Jog leaders
There are always Jog Scotland trained Jog Leaders on hand to lead the groups and to guide you individually. Every week there will be a qualified Jog Leader assigned to look after your running group.
Training
We also offer specialist coaching sessions, for members only. Our volunteer coaches have all completed their Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) qualification with UK Athletics.
At the start of the year, we offer a ‘Couch to 5K’ programme for beginners.
Welcome ambassadors
Our Welcome Ambassadors meet nervous newcomers at Buchanan Bus Station, one on one or in a small group, to then come along to the club together.
Committee
Our Committee is voted in by our members at our AGM (annual general meeting) in October. They meet on a monthly basis and keep the club running.
Events
We’re not just about running, we like to socialise too! 🥳
On the first Thursday of every month we go out for dinner and drinks after we’ve finished running, usually at The Ark pub near George Square.
We host fun events throughout the year to raise money for LGBTQIA+ charities including:
Rainbow Relay Run in February
OUTrun in August (our event of the year!)
Red Run in December
Throughout the year we organise club trips to local parkruns and national races, as well as national and international race trips which have a strong social focus.
We also organise regular social events including:
Summer BBQ
Christmas Party
Walking and cycling trips
Nights out on the town
Sober socials
Membership
We offer a range of affordable membership options:
Full Membership
Concessionary Membership
‘Pay As You Go’ (PAYG) Membership
‘Couch to 5K’ (C25K) Membership (at the start of the year for beginners)
Aims
Our aims are:
to promote health and wellbeing through running among lesbian, gay male, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQIA+) adults, regardless of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or physical fitness.
to combat discrimination and homophobia in sport, and to encourage LGBTQIA+ involvement in the sporting and local community.
to provide coaching for the members and to organise competitions and social activities.
In pursuit of these aims the club promotes equal opportunities and encourages gender parity.
